VEGAN SISTER CITY PROGRAM ON THE MOVE in INDIA & NEPAL...
The "vegan sister city" program between vegans in Kathmandu (Nepal) and Udaipur (India) being organized by the WVO (World Vegan Organisation) Nepal and India Chapters, has been busy using these slower times at restaurants to veganize menus and help training kitchen and service staff on making their restaurants vegan friendly. The first of the vegan sister cities in South Asia which will later included vegan sister cities across South & Southeast Asia is to encourage cross border cooperation between vegans in different cities by encouraging restaurants/cafes to be more vegan friendly by creating individual vegan menus (and menus describing what vegan is), vegan friendly kitchens and service staff training in what is vegan, which include providing vegan friendly laminate education dos/dont’s for kitchens, and vegan awareness in the hospitality industry. The concept of supporting local vegan cooperation and bringing people together, from different countries, faiths and beliefs to mutually promote compassion and kindness in restaurant and hotel kitchens is what the vegan sister city program is all about.
